Doylestown, PA – Bucks County based non-profit, Friends MATTer, has partnered with icon Doylestown coffee house, The Zen Den, and Bucks Happening’s Best Band 2018 and 2019, SlideWinder Blues Band, for a fundraiser sober-concert on April 19, 2019, 6:30pm at the Zen Den.
“Friends MATTer is excited to offer a sober platform for great entertainment where people of all ages are welcome. This event is to raise funds for a wonderful charity focused on providing a strong and stable support network to keep people engaged in their recovery process after rehab.”, said Andrea de la Flor, President, Friends MATTer. She continued, “in collaboration with our friends and families in recovery we are developing several similar programs that we will refine and expand in the coming year. We thank the Zen Den and SlideWinder Blues Band for recognizing how important it is for the community to work together on providing more of these opportunities for people to gather in recovery-friendly environments.”
There will be raffles with many great prizes donated by local businesses. A door donation of $5 per person (12 & under are free) is suggested but not mandatory for entry.
Friends MATTer was founded in Bucks County, as a PA registered 501 (c) (3) under federal tax guidelines, after the 2016 relapse Fentanyl overdose of New Hope resident, Matthew R. Daniels II. Friends MATTer supports the vision for a minimum standard of five years of monitoring and treatment for all people recovering from substance use disorders. The organization is mobilizing individual and community resources to identify, connect, and strengthen a lasting support network for our friends and families on their path to recovery. JANUARY 31, 2018- PIPERSVILLE, PA - As of March 24, 2017, FriendsMATTer is officially designated as a Public Charity 501 3 (c) per notification of the IRS, Department of Treasury. All donations made to Friends MATTer after that date are eligible for tax deductions.
The FriendsMATTer board is very pleased to announce this important step, which paves the way for the organization to move forward with fundraising for Educational, Awareness entertainment-based programs focused on prevention of SUD and support to those in recovery of SUD, and their support network.
The FriendsMATTer website is being updated with user-friendly direct donation capabilities and will carry ongoing Public Relations updates informing of progress on all programs and donations.
Currently all affiliates and board member of FriendsMATTer are full volunteers with no compensation. All proceeds of the charity are directly utilized for programs and donations to research of SUD of Opioids with interest to strengthen the recovery process and end relapse.

INWOOD, NEW YORK CITY, USA - Friends MATTer.org announce their first fundraising event, "Buzzing the Bun" at Tryon Public House on February 9th, 2017, 7:00PM - midnight, to raise start up funding for an organization focused on prevention of relapse in Substance Use Disorder treatment. The event will offer live entertainment, silent auction, raffles and a "buzzing" of the beloved bartender's (Eddie) bun at midnight. Eddie will have sponsors for his "bun buzz", his creative way to generate a buzz about Substance Use Disorder and the critical five year treatment process after which relapse rates drop to 15%. Friends MATTer is focused on building education, awareness, services and tech tools in an effort to help the support network of afflicted persons optimize their communications to become more involved in the pivitol five year recovery period after treatment. Friends MATTer is inspired by the loss of Matthew Daniels, who on August 8th, 2016 succumbed to relapse of product laced with Fentanyl. Matthew was in the first two critical years of recovery where relapse rates are 65% - 85%. Matthew made a point to dedicate time and effort to helping others, especially those in need and those also afflicted with illnesses. With his caring spirit of support for others in mind, Matthew's family and friends have banned together to form Friends MATTer in an effort to formally launch services and tools to help all people facing the challenges of Substance Use Disorder.
